SMART CHOICE BUYING GUIDE
How to choose a phone in Checheche
By Smart Choice Technologies · Published 12 October 2026
The best phone for you is the one that handles your everyday tasks comfortably and fits your total budget. Before comparing brands, decide what you need it to do.
Start with your daily routine
Write down your three most important uses. A phone for calls and WhatsApp has different priorities from one used for schoolwork, recording videos or running a business. If you sell through WhatsApp, think about how easily you can photograph products, store customer conversations and switch between apps.
When shopping in Checheche, describe those tasks to the seller. “I need clear product photos and space for work documents” is a more useful starting point than asking for the most expensive model.
Set a budget for the complete purchase
Include the phone, any charger or cable you need, a case, a screen protector and collection or delivery costs. Ask what comes in the box. A lower advertised price may not be the lower total cost if essential accessories are missing.
Compare the exact model, storage capacity and condition. Two phones with a similar name may have different specifications. Keep a little room in your budget for mobile data and normal running costs.
Compare storage and everyday performance
Storage holds your apps, photos, videos and downloaded files. Check how much space is available after the phone’s system and preinstalled apps. If you often record video or keep school and work documents offline, make storage a priority.
Try the apps you expect to use. Open the camera, type a message and switch between applications. RAM and storage are different: a large storage figure alone does not tell you how smoothly the phone will run.
Check the battery, charging and network
Ask about the battery’s condition, especially on a used phone, and confirm which charger is compatible. Battery size alone does not establish how long a phone will last in your routine.
Confirm that the exact model works with your mobile network and that it is not locked to another operator. Where possible, test your SIM for calls and mobile data. If you need two SIM cards, check the model’s actual SIM arrangement rather than relying on its name. A newer network label does not guarantee better reception at your home or workplace.
Look at software support and condition
Ask whether the manufacturer still provides updates for that model. On Android, the Settings app shows the Android version and security update status; menu names vary. See Google’s instructions for checking Android updates.
For a used or refurbished phone, ask what those terms mean for that particular device. Test the screen, camera, microphone, speakers, buttons and charging port. Confirm that the previous owner’s account has been removed and that you can complete setup with your own account before accepting it.
Ask these questions before you order
- What is the exact model and storage capacity?
- Is it new, used or refurbished, and what condition is disclosed?
- Which accessories are included?
- What warranty or return terms apply to this particular phone?
- What is the confirmed total price, and how will I collect or receive it?
When contacting Smart Choice, quote the SCT product reference so our team can identify the listing. Confirm current availability and details before making a decision.
